ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: The Math Department has strict entrance requirements for our courses and does not waive them for any student. You must qualify in order to take a Math course.
In order to enroll in a UA Math course, you must meet the course registration requirements.
- For some courses like Math 106, 107, 108, 112, you need a sufficient test score.
- For others, like Math 113, 116, 120R, 119A, 122A/B, 125, you need a recent prerequisite or a sufficient test score.

TAKE THE PPL ASSESSMENT: If you want to try to qualify for a course, make sure you have taken the PPL Assessment (Math Placement Test). You can access this through your Next Steps Center. If you have tested, you can review and retest to try to place higher.
SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE MY PLACEMENT: There are several opportunities for students during the summer.

- UArizona New Start Summer Program, which begins June 13, 2022.
- Taking a summer class at UArizona. Consult your academic advisor if you are considering this option.
- Taking a summer class at non-UArizona institutions. If you are considering this option, make sure you are taking the correct course. Check here or submit an evaluation.
